- Faircape Health Tokai Estate is a Sub-Acute Care and Rehabilitation Centre that provides restorative care and rehabilitation to patients recovering from neurological, orthopaedic, surgical and other medical conditions.
- Our multidisciplinary team works together to bridge the gap between hospital and home in a supportive and therapeutic environment.
- We are seeking experienced Enrolled Nursing Auxiliaries ENAs to join our nursing team permanently at Tokai Estate in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Duties will include, but are not limited to
Handover and Patient Care
- Participate in shift handovers by clearly communicating relevant patient observations.
- Accurately record patient information and observations in the handover book.
- Follow up on instructions and concerns communicated during handover.
Conduct regular patient observations and interventions according to the prescribed care plan, including:
- Catheter care
- Pressure care
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Intake and output monitoring
- Pulse and temperature checks
- Oxygen saturation monitoring
- Hb and Hgt monitoring
- Urine testing
- Weighing patients
- Administering eye drops
Clinical Duties
- Perform wound dressings as prescribed in the patient's care plan and document wound progress accurately.
- Immediately report any changes in a patient's condition to the Shift Leader.
- Perform additional clinical duties within the ENA scope of practice, as directed by the Shift Leader.
- Maintain patient dignity, comfort and safety at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the nursing team and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Electronic Care Plan and Recordkeeping
- Record all care and interventions accurately in the electronic care plan system.
- Provide relevant input to the Shift Leader regarding possible amendments to patient care plans.
- Ensure that all patient records are accurate, complete and updated timeously.
Administration and Reporting
- Monitor and replenish continence-care supplies when required.
- Complete the handover book thoroughly.
- Report all completed duties, patient concerns and changes in condition to the Shift Leader promptly.
- Comply with all infection prevention and control procedures, nursing protocols and facility policies.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Qualified as an Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council SANC.
Experience and Knowledge
- Previous experience in a hospital, rehabilitation or sub-acute healthcare environment is advantageous.
- Experience caring for neurological, stroke, orthopaedic, surgical and geriatric patients will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of basic nursing care, patient observations, pressure care and infection prevention and control.

Working Hours
- Day shifts are worked from 07h00 to 19h00 according to the operational roster, Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays.
Remuneration
- A market-related cost-to-company salary will be offered and will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications and skills.
