REQUIREMENTS
- Senior Certificate/Grade 12 or equivalent. Enrolled Nursing certificate that allows registration with the SANC as Enrolled Nurse.
- Experience: No experience required.
- Knowledge And Skills: Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes, and other relevant legal frameworks such as: Nursing Act, Health Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Patients Right Charter, Batho Pele Principles, Public Service Regulations, Labour Relations Act, Disciplinary Code and Procedure, Grievance Procedure.
- Knowledge of SANC rules and regulations. Good communication, writing, facilitation and interpersonal skills. Ability to function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Basic understanding of clinical nursing care within a specialized unit.
DUTIES
- Development and implementation of basic patient care plan. Provide basic clinical nursing care within the psychiatric unit under supervision. Effective utilization of resources.
- Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development. Maintain patient hygiene, comfort and safety. Observe and report changes in patient condition.
- Maintain accurate records and reports. Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control standards. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
