Engineer Production AOD

Person Specification: This exciting role demands a BEng/BTech (preferably Pyro Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering). Other relevant fields will be considered given suitable experience in the steel making process (10 years or more). The ideal candidate will have 5 years’ experience in the steelmaking process, plus systems knowledge (energy and mass balance models), SHE and quality procedure and proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of Steelplant AOD, EAF/Caster and or Raw Materials would be an added advantage. Our ideal candidate must be able to handle stress, shows excellent attention to detail when dealing with high volumes of data and employee analytical ability to coach professional and skilled team members. We seek a proactive self driven team player who is able to work independently, have high quality and safety standards and boast excellent communication, planning and organising skills. Strong leadership, good judgement, management skills and strong business acumen are of the utmost importance. The nature of the post necessitates physical fitness to cope in an environment with extreme heat, dust and noise without fear of heights.
