- Grade 12 with science subjects. Intermediate Life Support Certificate AEA. Current registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa HPCSA as an Ambulance Emergency Assistant. Current registration with HPCSA Valid card will be accepted, deposit slip will not be accepted. Unendorsed driver's license code C1 with a professional driving permit receipt of renewal will not be accepted Computer Certificate- Ms Office Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint will be an added advantage Current Registration with SANC. Valid Driver's License – Code 8 plus. Only Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit proof of experience/ service certificate endorsed by HR Department
- Knowledge, Skills, Training and Competencies Required: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Report writing. Knowledge on District Health Systems. Knowledge of relevant regulation and policies. An understanding of challenges facing the Public Health sector. Ability to translate and transform objectives into practical plan. Leadership, organisational, decision-making and problem-solving abilities within the DHS framework.
DUTIES
- The incumbents of these posts will report to the EMS shift leader: Emergency Medical Services and will be responsible to provide pre-hospital treatment within the scope of Basic Life Support and transport patients to an appropriate health facility to minimize the loss of lives.
- The ideal candidate must: Possess knowledge of Intermediate Life Support Protocol understand EMS and its line of business. Possess knowledge of Basic Medical rescue. Possess knowledge of Rules and Regulations of Road Traffic Ordinance. Possess good communication skills. Have practical Patience Management skills. Could implement emergency procedures. Can work under pressure. Be able to operate in any EMS environment i.e. Emergency Ambulances Obstetrics ambulance, inter-facility ambulances, communication Centres, Rescue or Patient, Transport services as per the allocation or deployment by the management of EMS. Be flexible to be deployed to any shifty as per service delivery needs. Be available for the Disaster Relief Emergency deployments nationally and/or internationally.
