- A leading manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join its maintenance team. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery, with a strong focus on injection moulding equipment and associated production systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting continuous production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance on injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment.
- Diagnose and repair complex electrical, control, and machinery faults to minimise production downtime.
- Install and maintain electrical systems, machinery, wiring, and power distribution components.
- Work with PLCs, servo motors, and HMI systems to support machine automation and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and repair documentation.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, OHS regulations, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out LOTO procedures.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or N3 qualification.
- Qualified Trade Test as an Industrial Electrician or equivalent electrical qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with plastics, injection moulding, or heavy industrial machinery will be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, three-phase power, motor controls, schematics, and blueprints.
- Experience working with PLCs, servo motors, and HMI systems.
- Good understanding of the injection moulding process and machine start-up procedures.
- Proficient in using electrical testing equipment and fault-finding techniques.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work shifts, flexible hours, and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
