Electrical Foreman

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Key Competencies

• Grade 12 Matric qualification
• Valid Electrical Trade Test
• Valid MV/HT Competency certificate added advantage
• Must have a valid driver's license
• A minimum of five years' management experience within a mining environment.
• Must have previous authorizations to perform High/Medium Voltage switching
• Advanced fault-finding, ability to read complex blueprints/schematics, and knowledge of PLC systems
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently within set targets.
• People management and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing conditions, and manage a team effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities not limited to

• Team Supervision: Lead and coordinate electrical artisans and contractors, ensuring work is completed to standard and on deadline.
• Maintenance Management: Plan and execute preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, and manage emergency breakdown repairs.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety standards such as the Mine Health and Safety Act, conduct risk assessments, and lead safety meetings or "toolbox talks".
• Resource Oversight: Manage budgets, coordinate the procurement of spare parts, and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
• Technical Oversight: Supervise medium and high voltage MV/HV reticulation, substation maintenance, and specialized mining equipment like crushers.
• Administrative Duties: Maintain meticulous records of tasks, update maintenance systems, and report progress to senior engineer.
