Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering company specialising in the design and development of custom machinery, automated equipment and integrated engineering systems . From initial concept and detailed engineering through manufacture, testing and commissioning, their engineers develop technically advanced equipment for demanding industrial applications. They are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in machine design and industrial automation to join their engineering team in Centurion. About the Role This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who enjoys seeing a design progress from concept and electrical schematics through to a fully operational machine . You will take responsibility for the electrical and control aspects of custom-built machinery, working closely with mechanical engineers and other technical specialists to deliver fully integrated systems. Your work will include electrical design, PLC and HMI integration, motors and drives, control panels, motion control, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning . Detail: Key Responsibilities Design electrical and control systems for custom machinery and automated equipment Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control panel layouts Specify and integrate PLCs, HMIs, motors, VSDs, servo drives, sensors and instrumentation Develop and support machine control architectures and industrial communication networks Work closely with mechanical engineers to ensure effective electrical/mechanical system integration Support prototype development, machine assembly, testing and commissioning Prepare bills of materials, electrical documentation and manufacturing packs Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues during development and commissioning Optimise machine performance, reliability and functionality Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical, machine safety and engineering standards Minimum Requirements BEng or BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering Approximately 4–7 years' relevant engineering experience Proven experience in machine design, industrial automation or equipment development Strong understanding of industrial electrical and control systems Experience working with PLCs and HMIs Good knowledge of motors, VSDs, servo drives and motion control Experience with control panel design, wiring and electrical standards Proficiency in EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software Understanding of industrial communication networks and system integration Strong fault-finding, analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to take engineering work from concept through design, manufacture and implementation Advantageous Experience PLC programming experience using Siemens, Allen-Bradley or similar platforms Robotics or advanced automation experience Machine safety systems and functional safety exposure Knowledge of relevant machine directives and standards Hands-on commissioning and site support experience Why Consider This Opportunity?
