Start free — we apply for you →Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead and execute electrical engineering projects, with a strong focus on distribution and reticulation networks. This opportunity is suited to a professionally registered engineer with a solid technical background, project management expertise, and the ability to deliver projects from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute electrical engineering projects across ECSA Stages 1–6, including design and drafting.
- Manage project budgets, resources, quality, technical risks, and commercial deliverables.
- Design and oversee Eskom and municipal distribution and reticulation networks.
- Liaise with clients, supply authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Manage service providers and ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards.
- Identify innovative engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor and support junior engineering staff.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng, BSc or BTech in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in the design and construction management of Eskom and municipal distribution and reticulation networks.
- Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng.
- Strong knowledge of Eskom, SANS, NRS, and IEEE standards.
- Good understanding of building services and multidisciplinary project environments.
- Knowledge of renewable energy solutions; Grid Code Compliance experience would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MicroStation, Autodesk Suite, CDEGS (AutoGrid Pro), Power Office, and Retic Master.
- Experience with PowerFactory (DIgSILENT) would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project coordination skills.
