Electrical Draughtsman Etap

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Draughtsman with ETAP experience to join their engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate electrical drawings and documentation for power distribution and electrical engineering projects, while supporting engineers with ETAP modelling and technical design deliverables. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong draughtsperson who enjoys working on detailed electrical designs and power-system projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Develop and maintain electrical design documentation in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Assist Electrical Engineers with ETAP modelling and power-system studies .
• Develop and update electrical layouts, cable schedules, panel drawings and equipment documentation.
• Interpret engineering calculations, specifications and design information.
• Ensure drawings accurately reflect engineering designs and project requirements.
• Incorporate design changes and maintain revision-controlled drawings.
• Liaise with engineers, project teams, suppliers and other disciplines to resolve drawing and design issues.
• Assist with the preparation of technical documentation and drawing registers.
• Conduct drawing checks to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with project standards.
• Support site teams and engineering personnel with drawing-related queries.
• Maintain drawing standards, templates and documentation systems.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma / Certificate in Electrical Engineering Draughting , Engineering Draughting or a related field.
• 35+ years' experience as an Electrical Draughtsman.
• Practical experience with ETAP is essential.
• Strong AutoCAD experience; EPLAN or other electrical CAD software would be advantageous.
• Experience producing single-line diagrams, electrical schematics and electrical layouts .
• Good understanding of electrical power distribution systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical standards and engineering practices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good computer literacy and technical documentation skills.

• ETAP load-flow, short-circuit and protection study modelling.
• MV and LV electrical distribution systems.
• Switchgear, transformers, MCCs and distribution boards.
• Protection and control systems.
• Cable sizing and cable schedules.
• Industrial, mining, manufacturing, utility or infrastructure projects.
