Are you an Electrical Design Engineer looking to work on technically challenging projects that are shaping the future of energy and industry?
Our client is a well-established engineering consulting firm delivering innovative electrical engineering solutions across the renewable energy, mining, and industrial sectors. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside highly skilled professionals on multidisciplinary projects from concept through detailed design and commissioning.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop electrical designs for renewable energy, mining, and industrial projects.
- Prepare LV and MV electrical layouts, single line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
- Perform electrical calculations, including load flow, voltage drop, cable sizing, short circuit, and protection coordination studies.
- Produce engineering drawings and technical documentation in accordance with relevant standards and client specifications.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, site inspections, and commissioning activities where required.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable national and international engineering standards.
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or BTech in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered or eligible for registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) is advantageous.
- 3–8 years' experience in electrical design within an engineering consulting environment.
- Experience in renewable energy, mining, or industrial infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant electrical design software.
Package & Remuneration
R550 000 CTC to R780 000 CTC per annum based on qualifications and experience
