Start free — we apply for you →Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer Start Date: 2026-08-13 - 2026-09-11 Vacancy Type: Permanent JHB002821 Sectors: Engineering Location: Gauteng , JHB - Northern Suburbs Salary: R850 000 per annum - Negotiable (Cost to company , Market related, Negotiable) Brief: electrical design engineer Urgently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer to lead the development of robust power distribution and control systems for mining operations and industrial projects You will drive the design and engineering of low and medium-voltage MCCs, ensuring all electrical infrastructure complies with mining safety standards, optimizes operational efficiency. Detail: Key Responsibilities: MCC Design: Develop and review detailed MCC layouts, schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and protection relay coordination. Compliance & Safety: To ensure that electrical designs strictly adhere to relevant mining acts, electrical codes, and statutory regulations. Equipment Sizing & selection: Calculation of electrical loads and performance Role Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering ( BSc/BEng) . PrEng OR ECSA Candidate is preferred Minimum of 5 - 10 years of hands-on electrical design experience within EPCM space, the mining or heavy industrial sector. Well versed in design and draughting software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, or MicroStation) and electrical calculation software . Deep understanding of IEC, IEEE, or local mining electrical standards.
