We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join client's Building Services team. Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems from concept through construction and commissioning. You will work closely with architects, project managers, mechanical engineers, and contractors to deliver innovative, compliant, and sustainable engineering solutions while meeting project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical building services systems, including:
- Power distribution
- Lighting and lighting control systems
- Small power installations
- Emergency power systems
- UPS and generator systems
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- ICT and security systems
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and technical drawings
- Produce and review designs in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, structural, architectural)
- Attend client, design, and site meetings
- Conduct site inspections and oversee installation quality
- Manage project deliverables, budgets, and schedules
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng / BSc Electrical Engineering)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in building services consulting engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, Relux, or similar design software
- Strong knowledge of electrical building services standards and regulations
- Experience with LV distribution, lighting design, backup power systems, and building services coordination
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Valid driver’s licence
