- To provide effective electrical maintenance, installation, fault-finding and repair services to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical equipment, machinery and infrastructure.
Key Performance Areas: include but are not limited to
- Conduct electrical maintenance, repairs and installations.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
- Inspect, test and commission electrical installations and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable legislation, standards and safety requirements.
- Maintain electrical distribution boards, control panels, motors, lighting systems and related equipment.
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and emergencies.
- Complete maintenance records, job cards, inspection reports and other required documentation.
- Identify potential electrical hazards and implement appropriate corrective measures.
- Assist with planned maintenance programmes and shutdown activities.
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
- Liaise with Manager's , contractors and other departments regarding electrical maintenance requirements.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in all electrical activities.
Post Requirements: include but are not limited to
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- Recognised Electrical Trade Certificate Electrician/ Electrical Artisan.
- Relevant technical qualification will be an advantage.
- Valid driver's licence may be required.
- Must be medically fit to perform the duties of the position.
- Must be willing to work overtime, standby, shifts or during shutdowns when required.
- Wireman's Licence / Certificate of Compliance CoC will be an advantage, where applicable.
