Roles and Responsibilities Location: Benoni, Gauteng Salary: Up to R75 000 CTC Employment Type: Full-time Industry: Mining / Mineral Processing / Industrial OEM

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (E&CI) Engineer to join our engineering team. As an OEM specializing in mineral processing equipment and plants, we require an engineer who can take ownership of control system design and implementation from concept through commissioning. The successful candidate will be involved in electrical design, PLC programming, MCC design, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site commissioning, and technical support during project execution. This role requires a practical, hands-on engineer who enjoys solving problems both in the office and on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for mineral processing equipment and plants.
• Develop PLC software and HMI/SCADA applications.
• Design and review Motor Control Centres (MCCs), control panels, and electrical distribution systems.
• Prepare electrical drawings, cable schedules, IO lists, and engineering documentation.
• Specify electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with clients.
• Perform on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and start-up of equipment.
• Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and performance testing.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC, instrumentation, networking, and electrical faults.
• Liaise with mechanical engineers, project managers, workshop personnel, suppliers, and clients.
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in developing engineering standards and best practices.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar.
• 38 years of experience in industrial automation or electrical engineering.
• Experience with PLC programming (Siemens and Allen Bradley preferred).
• Experience designing MCCs and industrial control panels.
• Understanding of industrial instrumentation and field devices.
• Ability to read and produce electrical schematics.
• Experience with industrial communication networks such as Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, or Modbus.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally for commissioning work.
• Valid driver's licence.

Preferred Experience

• Siemens TIA Portal, Studio5000, or Codesys.
• WinCC, Ignition or other SCADA/HMI platforms.
• Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
• Industrial networking.
• Mining or mineral processing plants.
• Electrical CAD software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar.
• FAT and SAT procedures.
