Duties & Responsibilities

Duties of an E-hailing Driver

• Provide safe, reliable and professional transportation to passengers.

• Accept and respond to trip requests through the e-hailing platform.

• Pick up passengers at designated locations and transport them to their destinations.

• Follow road traffic laws and drive responsibly at all times.

• Maintain a clean, safe and roadworthy vehicle.

• Assist passengers with luggage or other reasonable needs where required.

• Use GPS/navigation systems to determine the most efficient routes.

• Communicate professionally with passengers regarding pickup points, delays and destinations.

• Process trips and payments through the approved e-hailing platform.

• Report accidents, vehicle issues, incidents or passenger concerns promptly.

• Conduct basic vehicle checks, including fuel, tyres, lights and general condition.

• Maintain accurate records of trips, vehicle maintenance and related expenses.

• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional attitude.

• Comply with the e-hailing company's policies, licensing requirements and safety procedures.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements

• Valid South African driver’s licence.

• Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) , where required.

• Valid vehicle licence and registration documents.

• With or without Vehicle / Vehicle must meet the relevant e-hailing platform’s age, safety and roadworthiness requirements.

• Valid roadworthy certificate , where applicable.

• Appropriate vehicle insurance, including cover required for e-hailing/commercial passenger transport.

• Smartphone with reliable internet access.

• Familiarity with GPS and navigation applications.

• Good knowledge of local roads and major routes.

• Good communication and customer-service skills.

• Professional appearance and courteous manner.

• Clean driving record is advantageous.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

• Ability to pass the platform’s required background and verification checks.

• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
