• Valid driver's licence Essential. • Valid First Aid Level 1 Preferred. • Minimum 1 year's previous experience in a similar Duty Manager, Assistant Lodge Manager, Supervisor or hospitality management role. • Previous lodge or safari lodge experience will be advantageous. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Good computer literacy and basic administration skills. • Ability to work independently and take initiative. • Ability to handle pressure and remain calm in challenging situations. • Strong guest service skills. • Ability to confidently and respectfully manage staff. Important Team Environment The lodge operates with a very small team , meaning employees work in close quarters and rely heavily on one another. The successful candidate must therefore have a friendly and positive attitude , be respectful towards colleagues and contribute to a harmonious working environment. The Duty Manager must be able to discern between work and personal matters , communicate professionally and handle staff-related situations maturely. We are looking for someone who will become a valuable part of the team, rather than someone who is only comfortable working within a strict job description. Career Development The Duty Manager will work closely with and support the Lodge Manager and Assistant Lodge Manager , gaining valuable exposure to the different aspects and responsibilities involved in running a lodge.
