Looking for qualified drivers to drive LDV, MUST have tyre industry experience and knowledge of tyres.
The Driver safely delivers stock to clients and branches. This role requires heavy lifting, knowledge of local routes, and a valid South African driver's license with a professional driving permit (PrDP).
Only candidates with experience will be considered.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliveries: Transport tyres and goods safely to customers and retail branches on time.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and offload heavy tyres and inventory manually or using equipment. Ensure proper stacking to prevent damage.
- Break downs: Responding to Roadside breakdowns and fitment of Tyres.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Inspect the delivery vehicle daily (oil, water, tyres, brakes) and report any mechanical faults immediately.
- Administration: Check invoices against loaded stock, get delivery notes signed by customers, and handle basic cash or card collections if required.
- Compliance: Obey all South African road traffic laws and speed limits. Keep a valid code 10 or code 14 driver's license and PrDP up to date.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- License: Valid South African Driver’s License (Code 10 or Code 14).
- Permit: Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) - Category G or Goods.
- Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 years of heavy or light delivery driving experience, ideally in the automotive or logistics sector.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift and carry heavy truck or passenger car tyres repeatedly.
- Skills: Good communication skills, basic numeracy for paperwork, and strong knowledge of local municipal routes.
