Introduction

Code 14 Super link Drivers needed for a manufacturing company based in PTA

Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely drive and manoeuvre a super-link truck in various traffic and road conditions.

• Load, secure and unload product consignments in accordance with company procedures, ensuring that all items are intact and correctly documented.

• Check freight manifests, delivery notes and ensure accuracy of load against documentation.

• Plan routes in advance to optimise delivery times and minimise fuel consumption & downtime.

• Comply with all relevant road transport legislation, permits, hours-of-service regulations, and company transport policies.

• Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicle: brakes, tyres, lights, load securing, fluids, etc; report defects or damage immediately.

• Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, vehicle maintenance records, fuel usage records and any other required paperwork.

• Assist in basic vehicle cleaning and upkeep (daily & weekly checks) to preserve vehicle appearance and condition.

• Follow health & safety protocols – particularly given food-product transport (e.g., clean environment, spillage control).

• Adhere to company standards for punctuality, reliability, and vehicle presentation.

• Occasionally assist with other transport-related tasks or substitute other drivers if needed.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Valid South African Code 14 driver’s licence (super link) with a clean driving record.

• At least 2-3 years driving heavy articulated vehicles in a commercial delivery environment.

• Proven record of safe driving, punctuality, and responsibility.

• Competent in vehicle checks and basic maintenance awareness.

• Ability to read and interpret delivery manifests, maps/GPS, route plans.

• Strong time-management skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Basic literacy and numeracy (to complete logs, paperwork, documentation).

• Understanding of road traffic laws and regulations relevant to heavy vehicle transport.
