To ensure the fast, on time and efficient delivery of goods to customers, minimising damages, maximising customer relations and maintaining vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition
Duties & Responsibilities
Custodian of goods in transit
- Daily deliveries to be made in accordance with designated route and Trip sheet to ensure shortest delivery time, distance and minimum fuel usage.
- Sign for and ensure correct goods are loaded onto vehicle daily.
- Zero Inaccurate deliveries
- Assume responsibility and security of all goods on truck.
- Load and offload with assistant where required.
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately for returnable containers and goods and signed for on return by Inbound Distribution.
- Ensure that products returned are checked and signed for by the Inbound Clerk or Outbound Checker.
Driving company vehicle
- Adhere to the rules of the road and void negligent and reckless driving.
- Complete a vehicle checklist and report any faults on truck to Supervisor.
- Maintain vehicle in good order, and in a clean and tidy condition.
Financial Controls
- Obtain necessary signatures on all delivery notes.
- Short deliveries/missing stock for driver's account.
Customer Relations
Always maintain a clean appearance and friendly disposition towards customers
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric/ Grade 12
- Be comfortable working within a fast-paced environment
- Focused and detail orientated
- At least 4-6 years’ experience driving a heavy-duty vehicle with gross vehicle mass.
- Code 10 Driver’s License with valid PRDP
- Experience in a global multinational company will be beneficial.
