An opportunity is available for an experienced and reliable Driver / Warehouse Assistant to join a busy logistics and distribution operation based in Cornubia, Durban.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of goods, while also assisting with warehouse operations, stock handling, inventory control and general distribution activities.
This is a hands-on position requiring a responsible individual who combines professional driving experience with practical warehouse and stock-handling skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
Driving & Deliveries
Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with road traffic regulations.
Deliver and collect goods, equipment and documentation from customers, suppliers and company branches.
Load, offload, count, inspect and secure stock before transportation.
Ensure all deliveries and collections are accurately documented and signed for.
Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or mechanical issues.
Ensure company vehicles remain clean, roadworthy and properly maintained.
Provide professional and courteous service to customers and suppliers.
Warehouse & Stock Control
Assist with receiving, checking, packing and dispatching warehouse stock.
Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Assist with regular stock counts and inventory control.
Ensure goods are handled and stored correctly to prevent damage.
Maintain accurate stock records and supporting documentation.
Assist with general warehouse organisation and housekeeping.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.
General Operations & Safety
Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and company procedures.
Assist with general warehouse administration and operational duties.
Work closely with warehouse and logistics staff to ensure deliveries and collections are completed efficiently.
Support other operational activities as required by Management.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent – essential.
Valid South African Code 10 Driver's Licence – essential.
Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP/PrDP) – essential.
Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Delivery Driver within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
Previous experience with stock handling, deliveries and warehouse operations.
Good geographical knowledge of Durban and surrounding areas.
Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.
Physically capable of lifting, moving, loading and offloading stock where required.
Clear criminal record.
Reliable transport to and from work.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
