Role Mission: To deliver high-quality theoretical and practical driver training that improves driver competence, behavior, attitude and road safety, while ensuring every participant is trained and assessed to MasterDrive standards. The Instructor is central to the delivery of driver training across client bookings and safety events. The role combines classroom-based theoretical instruction with practical on-road training, driver evaluation, route planning, learner engagement and the completion of supporting training documentation. The successful candidate must represent MasterDrive professionally at client sites, communicate with confidence, remain calm in on-road training environments and consistently place safety, service quality and compliance at the center of delivery. Key Responsibilities

1. Training Delivery & Learner Engagement • Deliver classroom-based theoretical and practical on-road driver training. • Present to individuals and groups using clear, patient and adaptable communication styles. • Demonstrate defensive, advanced and situational driving techniques and explain their practical application. • Check learner understanding and adapt instruction to varying experience and skill levels. • Engage confidently with clients and candidates with knowledge, conviction and passion for the industry.

2. Driver Assessment, Route Planning & Safety • Conduct evaluations of driver skill, behavior and driving attitude using in-car instructional techniques. • Plan training delivery and appropriate routes for each booking and candidate. • Apply sound knowledge of road traffic legislation, safe driving practices, risk assessment and hazard identification. • Maintain strong situational awareness and make calm, sound decisions in on-road training environments. • Ensure training vehicles, equipment and required PPE are used responsibly and safely.

3. Administration, Compliance & Documentation • Capture supporting documentation accurately for internal and external use. • Assess and complete Portfolio of Evidence documentation in accordance with applicable TETA and QCTO requirements. • Ensure registers, learner records and training documentation are complete, accurate and submitted on time. • Follow communicated Standard Operating Procedures, company policies and administrative requirements. • Maintain accurate learner performance records and provide timely feedback on booking or training discrepancies.

4. Client Service & Professional Standards • Deliver all requested services to a consistently high standard and support excellent customer satisfaction. • Represent MasterDrive values through professional conduct, communication, grooming and service delivery. • Be punctual and prepared for every client booking and training intervention. • Work effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism and safety. • Keep up to date with developments in driver training, fleet safety, road legislation and the broader motoring industry.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements • Matric / Grade 12. • Minimum 3 years' experience within the professional driving, driver training or motoring industry. • Practical training or instructional experience. • Valid EC driver's license with applicable PrDP (DG, P, G) and own reliable transport. • Sound knowledge and practical experience in defensive and/or advanced driving techniques. • Sound understanding of road traffic legislation and safe driving practices. • Strong verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills. • Strong interpersonal, client-facing and customer-service skills. • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy. • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional South African languages is advantageous. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong safety awareness, sound situational judgement and calm decision-making in on-road training environments. • Willing and able to travel nationally and work away from home when operationally required. • Candidate must reside in Johannesburg or within reasonable travelling distance of Johannesburg.

Nice to Have • TETA-accredited Assessor qualification. • Relevant SAQA/QCTO-aligned driver training or instructor qualification. • Moderator certification. • Experience within the motor, training, fleet safety or HSE environment. • First Aid and/or Firefighting certification. • Additional driver-training qualifications or experience across multiple vehicle categories.

Package & Remuneration Basic From R215 000 per annum, negotiable based on experience.
