Driver Trainer

Our client, a leading logistics and supply chain organisation, is looking for an experienced Driver Trainer to develop, coach, and assess professional drivers operating across a diverse transport network. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver practical and classroom-based driver training programmes
• Conduct driver assessments, evaluations, and competency testing
• Coach drivers on defensive driving techniques, fuel-efficient driving, and vehicle care
• Ensure compliance with road traffic legislation, company policies, and transport regulations
• Monitor driver performance and implement corrective coaching where required
• Investigate driving incidents and provide remedial training when necessary
• Maintain accurate training records, assessment reports, and compliance documentation
• Conduct new driver inductions and onboarding programmes
• Promote a strong safety culture across the transport operation
• Work closely with fleet, operations, and compliance teams to improve driver performance and reduce operational risk

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Accredited Driver Trainer or Facilitator qualification
• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver's licence with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial transport or fleet operations
• Previous experience as a Driver Trainer within the logistics, transport, or supply chain industry
• Sound knowledge of road transport legislation, vehicle inspections, and fleet compliance
• Experience conducting driver evaluations and performance coaching
• Strong report-writing and administrative skills
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Willingness to travel to operational sites when required
