Our client, a leading courier and logistics company, is seeking an experienced Driver Trainer to join their Cape Town operation. This is a hands-on role responsible for developing, coaching, and mentoring drivers while ensuring compliance with company policies, road safety legislation, and operational standards. Duties & Responsibilities
- Train, coach, and mentor new and existing drivers.
- Conduct driver inductions, practical assessments, and competency evaluations.
- Monitor driver performance and provide ongoing coaching and corrective action where required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, road safety legislation, and operational procedures.
- Conduct defensive driving and safety training programmes.
- Investigate vehicle accidents, incidents, and driver-related complaints.
- Identify training needs and implement driver development plans.
- Monitor driver behaviour using telematics and vehicle tracking systems.
- Maintain accurate driver training records, reports, and performance documentation.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Driver Trainer, Assessor, Facilitator, or related training qualification will be advantageous.
- Valid Code 10 or Code 14 Driver's Licence with a valid PDP.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Driver Trainer, Driver Facilitator, Fleet Trainer, or similar role.
- Previous experience within the courier, transport, logistics, fleet, or distribution industry is an advantage.
