Driver, Lowbed

In this permanent role, you will safely and efficiently transport heavy equipment using lowbed vehicles, conduct thorough pre-use inspections, monitor fluid levels, and promptly report any defects to maintain vehicle safety and reliability. Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-use inspections on Lowbed vehicles to verify safety and operational readiness.

• Monitor and maintain fluid levels, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.

• Report defects immediately to the transport workshop for rapid resolution.

• Adhere to and promote all safety practices and housekeeping procedures.

• Safely operate Lowbed vehicles for loading and transporting heavy machinery.

• Support crane drivers with rigging duties while adhering to safety regulations.

• Secure loads efficiently using advanced rigging techniques and principles.

• Clean and maintain vehicles post-operation, completing checklists and reporting any defects.

• Collaborate effectively with team members, demonstrating creativity and stewardship.

• Respond swiftly to business needs with a focus on agility and adaptability to diverse work practices.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 10/Standard 8 Technical qualification (Essential/Minimum)

• AET Level 4 certification (Essential/Minimum)

• Psychometric Assessment  (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)

• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)

• Valid Public Driver's License: Code C (Essential/Minimum)

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in transporting goods and machinery (Essential/Minimum)

• Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices

• Experience in performing vehicle pre-use inspections for safety and functionality

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team, particularly assisting crane drivers with rigging duties

• Demonstrates creativity, collaboration, stewardship, and safety awareness
