Driver (IA Mechanical)

Introduction

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Code 14 Driver to assist with the collection, transportation and delivery of materials using a 14-ton truck, for temporary basis . The successful candidate will also operate a forklift and Grove crane to support maintenance and material-handling activities within the plant and workshop. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, good housekeeping and operational efficiency. The successful candidate must be willing to work overtime and standby when required.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver materials between the main store, workshop and plant.

• Operate a 14-ton truck safely and efficiently.

• Operate a 7-ton forklift to transport and position materials within the plant and workshop.

• Operate a Grove crane for maintenance-related activities within the plant.

• Conduct pre-use inspections of the truck, Grove crane and forklift.

• Ensure all relevant equipment logbooks are completed accurately.

• Identify and report defects or unsafe conditions on vehicles and equipment.

• Safely load and offload materials.

• Move and position materials as required by supervisors and foremen.

• Assist with maintaining good housekeeping in work areas and laydown areas.

• Ensure materials are properly stored, stacked and handled.

• Perform other related duties as instructed by the Supervisor / Foreman.

• Comply with all applicable safety, health and environmental requirements.

• Work overtime and participate in standby duties as required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Code 14 / EC Driver’s Licence with PDP .

• Valid 7-ton Forklift Licence .

• Valid Grove Crane Licence – C43 .

• Good driving record and proven experience as a driver.

• Previous experience in a plant, mining, petrochemical, engineering or industrial environment will be advantageous.

• Good understanding of vehicle and equipment safety inspections.

• Ability to work overtime and standby when required.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
