Loading, transportation, off loading and delivering of goods.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Duties
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
- Conduct daily pre- end-of-shift vehicle inspections.
- Reporting all vehicle defects.
- Ensure proper loading of goods to avoid damages
- Loading in the most efficient route plan.
- No passengers accept designated assistants allowed in the vehicle.
- Ensure driver license is on person at all times and valid.
- Unload the vehicle in a safe manner and to avoid damage.
- Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
- Follow routes and time schedules.
- Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints
- Collect payments
- Complete trip logs and reports
- Follow transport / road safety regulations and standards
- Ensure the vehicle is re-fuelled after completing all deliveries.
- Check oil and water daily.
- Ensure the uniform is clean.
Reporting & Admin
- Filling in of trip sheets daily and adding fuel slip.
- Ensure that cash-up procedures are adhered too.
- Accurate record keeping and reporting in order to inform business of all trip details.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum of Grade 12.
- Tertiary qualification preferred.
- Code8/Code 10 driver license with PrDP.
- Previous driver experience advantageous.
