Our client in Cape town is looking for a Code 8 driver for 2 months, to drive a 1 ton bakkie with an overhead rack. You will be moving aluminium lenghts. Candidates must have 2 to 3 years relevant experience. The ideal candidate must also have a good attitude, be reliable and dependable, trustworthy, show initiative, have good communication, have excellent people skills, have confidence, a professional attitude, able to handle pressure and solve problems and be comitted.
Duties & Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation: Drive the bakkie safely along planned routes while obeying local traffic laws and speed limits.
Loading and Securing Cargo: Load, pack, and offload goods, ensuring items in the open load bay or canopy are tightly strapped, balanced, and protected from weather or theft.
Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections: Check oil, water, tire pressure, brakes, and lights before and after every trip to confirm the vehicle is roadworthy.
Documentation and Deliveries: Obtain required customer signatures, collect proof of delivery, and handle delivery paperwork or invoices accurately.
Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the bakkie clean, refuel on schedule, and report any mechanical issues or required services immediately.
Desired Experience & Qualification
3 years experience as a driver in the transportation of goods.
Matric.
Valid Drivers license and PDP.
Physical Stamina: Ability to frequently lift, pack, and stack heavy or bulky items.
Package & Remuneration
Market related dependant on experience.
