Detail: Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Design Execution of design tasks within the parameters and interfaces set by the Chief Designer or Senior Design Engineer Prepare Solid Models of components; sub-assemblies and assemblies, using the business file structure guidelines and number protocol Sit with the mechanical/electrical designers to ensure cable routings and integration is possible Draughting Prepare detail layout and manufacturing drawings of components and assemblies Responsible for the technical integrity of the design drawings Test and Evaluation Assist during the building and testing of prototypes, ensuring that closed loop feedback can take place during the design process Project Management Ensure that projects are executed according to the time and budget targets, set by the Design team leader Support Communicate with manufacturing, to ensure the flow of technical information during prototyping and production are up to acceptable standards Assist ILS with repair, maintenance and other information required Production support, capturing of red-line drawings during the building and prototype phase Technology Keep up to date with new trends in the automotive and military field, by reading technical papers and documents, as supplied Experience & Qualifications: Previous experience in the military vehicle environment would be greatly advantageous. 2 – 6 years drafting experience in an Automotive field Minimum of professional drafting credentials or equivalent certification Other relevant certificates will be advantageous Software Capability: OnShape or Solidworks preferred or relevant CAD package. Siemens Teamcentre 11 or relevant PDM system Microsoft Office. Other Requirements: A team player who is willing to assist the team on various aspects of the project, if required. Innovative thinker.
