Job Title: Draughtsman Start Date: 2026-07-09 - 2026-08-08 Vacancy Type: Permanent JHB000282 Sectors: Engineering and Technical Location: Gauteng , Rustenburg Salary: R90 000 - R100 000 CTC Brief: An Engineering / Fabrication concern is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Draughtsman to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality structural steel detailing drawings for fabrication and erection, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in structural steel detailing and be highly proficient in Tekla Structures. Requirements: Minimum 5+ years' experience in structural steel detailing. Tekla Structures proficiency is mandatory. Proven experience detailing structural steel for fabrication and site erection. Strong understanding of construction and structural steel fabrication processes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design calculations. Excellent knowledge of steel connections, assemblies, and detailing standards. Good understanding of fabrication tolerances and erection requirements. Valid driver's licence will be advantageous. Detail: Key Responsibilities: Produce accurate and detailed fabrication and erection drawings using Tekla Structures. Develop General Arrangement (GA), assembly, single-part, and erection drawings. Generate bills of materials (BOMs), NC files, and fabrication reports. Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications and applicable industry standards. Coordinate closely with engineers, project managers, workshop personnel, and site teams. Review drawings for quality, constructability, and fabrication efficiency. Resolve detailing queries and implement design revisions promptly. Maintain drawing registers and revision control. Support workshop production by providing technical assistance where required. Assist with project planning by ensuring drawing deliverables are issued on schedule. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior draughtsmen where required. Advantageous Experience: Experience exporting and importing models to Strumis . Experience working in SMPP (Structural, Mechanical, Platework and Piping) projects.
