MANCOSA, a DHET-registered and CHE-accredited private higher education distance education provider offering undergraduate and postgraduate Education qualifications, has the following vacancy available: Doctoral Research Administrator Duties & Responsibilities
• CORE PURPOSE The Doctoral Research Administrator plays a key administrative role in advancing MANCOSA’s doctoral research programme support service, with an equal focus on:
• Supporting the doctoral students' research assessment, progress and throughput. • Compliance support across the doctoral research lifecycle, and • Supporting the DBA Administrator, Student Support Administrator, DBA Programme Coordinators, M-HREC administrator, and Senior Research Associates. The incumbent will contribute to providing end-to-end administrative and compliance support across the doctoral research lifecycle. The administrator will oversee and control the:
- student project progress report tracking,
- supervisor onboarding, contracts, and database maintenance,
- supervision progress tracking,
- examination process and tracking,
- ratification process,
- doctoral thesis archiving,
- doctoral research portal and data filing,
- monthly dashboard reporting,
- ensuring on-time, accurate, and report-ready processes for an excellent student experience.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- General Administration, including student support and supervisor onboarding.
- Project progress reports for doctoral students.
- Doctoral examinations.
- Quality assurance compliance .
Desired Experience & Qualification
QUALIFICATION(S) · Postgraduate degree. · Master's degree is an added advantage. · Preferably: Specialisation in business, administration, management, or in cognate fields.
EXPERIENCE · 2 years of administrative experience. · Higher education research experience is advantageous. · Working with master's and doctoral students is advantageous.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Proficiency in digital admin tools and MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). · Handle difficult postgraduate student cases. · Honesty and integrity. · Willingness to work weekends · Attention to detail. · Ability to work under pressure. · Conflict resolution skills. · Collaborative mindset in a diverse workplace. · Project management skills.
ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS: · Must be able to work during weekends when requested. · Must be capable of working with visual and auditory input.
