Division Procurement Officer in PE and Creditors/Debtors Controller - Senior for Cape Town and Jouior for PE- FMCG Retail Food Packaging

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Officer  to lead and optimise procurement operations within our retail food packaging division. This role is responsible for driving sourcing strategy, supplier performance, cost management, and ensuring uninterrupted supply to support business growth and operational excellence.

Debtors/Creditors Clerk

• We are looking for a skilled Debtors/Creditors Clerk to provide financial, administrative and clerical services, with basic Bookkeeper skill to maintain our financial records, receipts and payments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Procurment Officer

• Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned to business and cashflow objectives

• Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, and contract negotiations

• Manage key supplier relationships and service-level agreements

• Oversee purchasing operations and demand planning

• Work closely with warehouse, operations, sales, and finance teams

• Identify cost-saving, efficiency, and stock optimisation opportunities

• Ensure compliance with food-contact packaging standards and quality requirements

• Monitor market trends and supply risks

• Coordinate Stock take if needed

Debtors/ Creditors Clerk

• Manage and maintain customer/supplier accounts for a large customer base.

• Ensure accurate invoicing and resolve invoice queries.

• Monitor customer/supplier balances and credit limits.

• Follow up on outstanding payments and overdue accounts.

• Allocate customer payments and reconcile customer accounts.

• Send monthly statements and maintain debtor aging reports.

• Liaise with the sales and operations teams to resolve account issues.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Procurement Officer

• 2-4 years’ procurement experience

• Proven experience in packaging, FMCG, or food-related supply chains

• Strong negotiation and contract management expertise

• Excellent communication, and analytical skills

• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Diploma or certificate in procurement related will be a plus

• Overtime if needed

Junior Debtors/ Creditors

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a debtors/creditors role.

• Experience handling high-volume customer accounts (distribution or FMCG environment advantageous).

• Strong understanding of invoicing, payment allocations, and debtor reconciliations.

• Able to work on settlement discounts and rebates

• Experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.

• Good communication skills for customer follow-ups and query resolution.

• Matric required; a Diploma or Certificate in Accounting / Finance will be advantageous.

Package & Remuneration

Procurement Officer

Monthly CTC 18,000, negotiable based on relevant qualification and experience
