Dispatch and Warehouse Controller

Designer Water SA is looking for a disciplined, hands-on Dispatch and Warehouse Controller to own the daily movement of finished goods from released stock through picking, checking, loading, delivery documentation and proof-of-delivery closure.

This is not an administrative desk role. The successful candidate must control the physical dispatch floor, coordinate people and vehicles, protect stock accuracy and ensure that the correct order leaves on time, in full and with complete documentation.

Duties & Responsibilities

•⁠  ⁠Translate confirmed customer orders into a daily picking, staging, loading and dispatch plan.

•⁠  ⁠Check product, quantity, batch, packaging condition and customer documentation before loading.

•⁠  ⁠Coordinate dispatch staff, drivers, collections, third-party transporters and loading priorities.

•⁠  ⁠Prevent wrong products, short loads, duplicate loads, damaged stock and unauthorised stock movements.

•⁠  ⁠Maintain clear separation of released, staged, returned, damaged, quarantined and non-conforming stock.

•⁠  ⁠Enforce FIFO or FEFO rules, batch traceability and food-safety requirements.

•⁠  ⁠Control delivery notes, invoices, vehicle checklists, collection records, proof of delivery and returns.

•⁠  ⁠Track every dispatched order until delivery or formal exception closure.

•⁠  ⁠Reconcile returned stock, rejected deliveries, shortages, breakages and customer claims promptly.

•⁠  ⁠Perform daily stock and dispatch reconciliations and escalate variances immediately.

•⁠  ⁠Keep the loading area orderly, safe and audit-ready.

•⁠  ⁠Report daily service failures, stock risks, vehicle delays and unresolved proof-of-delivery exceptions.

•⁠  ⁠Work closely with Sales, Production, Finance and customer-service staff to resolve order and delivery problems.

Desired Experience & Qualification

### What you must bring

•⁠  ⁠At least three years of dispatch, warehouse or distribution-control experience in FMCG, food, beverage or manufacturing.

•⁠  ⁠Direct experience checking and releasing customer orders for loading.

•⁠  ⁠Proven stock-control, batch-traceability and reconciliation discipline.

•⁠  ⁠Working knowledge of delivery notes, invoices, proof of delivery, returns and transport documentation.

•⁠  ⁠Competence in an ERP, warehouse or stock-management system and Microsoft Excel.

•⁠  ⁠Experience coordinating drivers, loaders or warehouse staff against daily deadlines.

•⁠  ⁠A valid South African driver's licence.

•⁠  ⁠Lawful eligibility to work in South Africa and reliable transport to the Midrand site.

•⁠  ⁠Willingness to work reasonable overtime when dispatch volumes or service recovery require it.

### Advantageous

•⁠  ⁠Forklift licence or formal warehouse/logistics training.

•⁠  ⁠Experience with Zoho, Sage, Syspro, Pastel or a comparable order and inventory system.

•⁠  ⁠Experience dispatching bottled beverages or other batch-controlled consumer goods.

•⁠  ⁠Route-planning or third-party transport-management experience.
