- Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint two experienced Digital Printers on four-month fixed-term contracts. The successful candidates will operate Canon colour digital presses, Canon Titan black-and-white digital presses and the Canon ColorStream digital web press.
Job description KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Operate Canon colour digital presses, Canon Titan black-and-white digital presses and/or the Canon ColorStream digital web press
- Produce work to job specifications, production targets and quality standards
- Monitor colour, registration, image quality and substrate handling
- Perform basic fault-finding and routine preventative maintenance
- Monitor stock levels and arrange toner, ink, paper and other consumables
- Maintain health, safety and housekeeping standards in the production environment
Minimum requirements REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric Grade 12 or equivalent
- A qualified Artisan in Prepress or Press will be advantageous with relevant training and experience
- Minimum 3 years recent experience operating high volume digital production printing presses
- Practical operating experience on Canon colour digital presses, Canon Titan black-and-white digital presses and/or a Canon ColorStream digital web press
- Experience in press setup, colour control, registration, quality inspection
- Willingness and ability to work shifts
