RESPONSIBILITIES AMONGST OTHERS

  • Nutritional management while ensuring the provision of optimum nutritional care for patients.
  • Implement and monitor nutrition indicators and produce quality reports.
  • Participate in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the programme according to prescribed policies, protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with relevant programmes and stakeholders for nutrition activities.
  • Provide support to the department and Unit Managers on nutrition-related activities.
  • Use evidence-based behaviour change strategies to support customers in developing healthy habits across various aspects such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and mindset.
  • Work with the wider HSDS teams to ensure safe and effective practice across the board.

COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of relevant Acts, regulations, policies, strategies, guidelines and protocols within health that impact on nutrition outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the science of nutrition, social determinants and commercial determinants of health and their impact on nutrition and health outcomes.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies for data collection, analysis and presentation, use of current evidence-based nutrition for improving nutrition outcomes, policy, strategies, guideline and training manual development and review process and the principles of effective monitoring and evaluation.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A four-year Bachelor's Degree NQF 7 in Dietetics or Nutrition.
  • Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa HPCSA.
  • At least five 5 years' appropriate experience as a Dietitian.
