- Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
- Recognised Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Mechanic trade qualification (Red Seal).
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic in a mining or heavy earthmoving environment.
- Proven hands-on experience working on:
- CAT Articulated Dump Trucks (ADTs)
- CAT Dozers
- Hitachi Excavators
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, drivetrains and electrical systems . • Experience with fault-finding, diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy earthmoving equipment. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics and electrical diagrams . • Experience conducting planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and inspections . • Knowledge of mining equipment safety standards and safe maintenance practices . • Valid driver's licence . • Ability to work shifts, overtime and in a demanding mining environment. • Good communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills. Advantageous: Experience with CAT diagnostic systems (e.g. CAT ET ) and Hitachi diagnostic equipment.
