South African Citizens and those living in the area will have preference. Detail: Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 and N2 Mechanical Engineering Valid Trade Certificate Section 13 or 26 (D) as a Diesel Mechanic At least 2 years Trackless mining experience Safety Inspecting PPE before use Ensure that all legal and safety requirements are adhered to in movement operations Obtain relevant safety and work permits prior to executing activities Isolation procedures to be followed Complete safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports for area Ensure that the prescribed safety equipment is always worn Financial Control Participate in cost saving initiatives and adhere to financial procedures. Customer Relations Ensure that employees work in a safe environment Ensure effective two way communications with team members Inform the appropriate Foreman when work is being conducted in their area of responsibility Co-ordinate maintenance activities with the appropriate Foreman, to ensure that the operation is not effected or alternative plans need to be prepared Ensure that the team member work together while completing tasks Participate in required meetings including Safety Ensure that all planned maintenance schedules, are performed timeously and accurately and according to required standards and specifications Maintenance administration regarding legal requirements Complete the necessary Work Orders relating to the task done including a description of work and spares used Ensure that the correct tools are used to complete the tasks Obtain legal work instructions from the Foreman Complete and sign off the allocated work orders Communicate any stumbling blocks to the appropriate Foreman so that plans can be made Ensure the safe and proper running of all machinery and equipment Communicate sub-standards quality component or spares to the relevant Foreman Proper cleaning of test equipment, tools and PPE Proper storage of test equipment, tools and PPE Ensure the proper filling of all test certificates Regular testing of statutory equipment and tools Communication and arrangement with appropriate responsible people prior to inspection and or maintenance of statutory equipment Inspection of all the statutory equipment (harnesses, lifting equipment, PHEs, Instruments and Fire Equipment etc.) according to mine standard Completion of the appropriate and relevant log books Safe declaration and related tagging of statutory equipment The out-of-service tagging when statutory equipment damaged or worn-out BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES Business Communication Business Understanding Employee Relations Logistics Knowledge People Management Cognitive Ability: Fault finding A/B style problem solving Deductive style decision making Innovativeness with practical orientation Skills Set: Reading of auto electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics Relevant knowledge of how the mining industry operates Good communication skills Good decision making skills Good interpersonal skills Physical Aptitudes: Medical fit for work Fit for movement underground No major sensory restrictions Hand-eye co-ordination Physical strength Competent within confined spaces Emotional: Assertive Diligent Emotional maturity Willing to work shifts and overtime show more...
