- Grade 12 certificate
- Diesel Mechanic trade certificate
- 5 years + experience as a Diesel Mechanic post trade
- Computer literate
- Basic electrical knowledge auto electrical advantageous
- Working knowledge of basic tools
- Ability to work on RSG, oil sampling as well as lubricating
- Basic welding – advantageous
- Spray painting – advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities not limited to
- Working knowledge of all earthmoving machinery mobile plant, loaders, dumpers, excavators, LDVs, mobile crushing and screening machines
- Perform first line maintenance task on all yellow fleet
- Perform first line of breakdown repairs on plant and equipment
- Assist with general duties assigned by Manager
- Develop, modify, construct, and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment
- Diagnosis, troubleshooting, fault finding and repair
- Ordering of spares
- Complete risk assessments
- Good experience in hydraulics fault finding as well as changing cylinders
- Working knowledge of hydraulic pumps
