- The position exists to ensure that resources are utilised to maintain the plant as planned on Yellow Machines, Mobile Cranes, LDV, MDV, Diesel Pumps/Generators and HDV Fleet.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Health and Safety
- Maintain FAMP safety policy and procedure requirements
- Promote safety performance
- Conduct risk assessments
- Do planned task observations
- Conduct safety meetings
- Ensure team members wear PPE
- Report & investigate all incidents/accidents
- Mine Health and Safety Act compliance
Co-ordinating
- Liaises with Engineering & Production Staff
- Evaluates condition monitoring status
- Issuing of work schedules and job cards on all machines
- Ensures maintenance planning for all machines
- Issues requisitions for spares as required for planned and adhoc work on the sites fleet
Administration
- Keeps filing system for job cards
- Prepares standby lists
- Compiles weekly artisan utilisation reports
- Prepares month end reports
- Generates cost reports
Managing the team
- Select and appoint competent & passionate people
- Assign work
- Monitor performance
- Train and develop team members
- Maintain discipline in the team
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- Minimum N3 – Mechanical/Electrical or Diesel engineering subjects
- Diesel Mechanic Trade test-Artisan - MQA/MERSETA preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Preferably previous exposure to the environment in Mining/Mineral Processing
- 2 years Learnership/Apprentice
- 3 – 5 years Artisan experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Computer Literate Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
