The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and reliable individual capable of problem-solving and forward planning, demonstrating a proven track record of vehicle fleet management and vehicle maintenance with excellent interpersonal skills. Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered. Detail: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Recognized qualification as a diesel mechanic Minimum 3 years of experience working on diesel vehicles Experience in general maintenance of water pumps and other machinery Experience in a supervisory/people management role Passion for vehicles General ability to problem-solve and fix things Keen attention to detail Proficient in English and Afrikaans Excellent organizational skills Excellent communication skills Computer literacy Teamwork KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Maintenance of the reserve's fleet of vehicles, including preventative and ad hoc maintenance Ordering of parts and ensuring their timely delivery Maintenance of a neat and organized workshop with an adequate stock of frequently used spares Supervision and training of workshop staff Contribution towards sustainability goals by constantly seeking ways to make vehicle and workshop operations more environmentally friendly Repairs and maintenance of gate motors and solar and electrical water pumps Effective financial management of workshop operations through the administration and recording of orders, stock control and working within agreed budgets Record-keeping of vehicle service schedules and other related administrative tasks Ensuring quality and care of workshop equipment and products in accordance with standard operating procedures ONLY short-listed candidates will be contacted show more...
