Job Description
Reverside is an established IT services provider delivering Software Development, IT Resourcing, Digital Transformation, and Systems Support solutions. We partner with leading organisations to deliver innovative technology solutions and measurable business value. We are always looking for skilled professionals to join our growing team and contribute to innovative technology projects across various industries.
This senior role leads the design, automation, and security of cloud-native infrastructure across AWS (and other cloud platforms). You will manage a DevSecOps team, embed “security by design”, and ensure secure, scalable, and compliant delivery in a regulated (POPIA/GDPR) environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud & DevOps
- Design and manage infrastructure using IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Build and maintain containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Automate deployments and improve reliability
- Support incident response and root cause analysis
Security (DevSecOps)
- Embed security into CI/CD pipelines (SAST, DAST, SCA, IaC scanning)
- Manage AWS security tools (GuardDuty, Inspector, Security Hub, IAM, KMS)
- Lead vulnerability management and penetration testing
- Implement secure architecture and zero-trust principles
Operations & Monitoring
- Implement observability (CloudWatch, SIEM, alerting tools)
- Improve system uptime, reduce alert noise, and enhance incident response
Leadership & Governance
- Lead and mentor DevOps/SRE/Security teams
- Define KPIs (MTTR, deployment frequency, vulnerability remediation)
- Ensure POPIA/GDPR compliance and audit readiness
Technical Skills
- AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker
- CI/CD and DevSecOps tooling
- Linux, networking, Git, scripting (Python/Bash)
- Security tools (SIEM, SAST/DAST, GuardDuty)
Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS Security Specialty or AWS DevOps Professional
- CISSP / CISM / CCSP Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and communication
- Metrics-driven and improvement-focused mindset
