- Our client is seeking a DevOps/Cloud Engineer to take ownership of cloud infrastructure across multiple environments. This role is responsible for designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, environment configuration, database provisioning, monitoring, and deployment strategies while supporting critical production environments.
- The successful candidate will thrive in complex enterprise environments, working across development, operations, and support to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure
- Design and set up multiple cloud environments, including development, testing, and production.
- Configure network isolation, security groups, and access controls.
- Set up database instances with backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code IaC for repeatability and version control.
- Collaborate with client infrastructure teams on account and security management.
CI/CD & Deployment
- Design and build CI/CD pipelines from code commit through to automated deployment.
- Implement automated deployment and release procedures.
- Plan and execute deployment strategies across regions.
- Lead production go-live activities.
- Provide hypercare on-call support during post-launch phases.
Containerisation & Automation
- Implement containerisation using Docker, image registries, and container orchestration.
- Implement secrets management for credentials and sensitive data.
- Develop automation through Infrastructure as Code and scripting.
Monitoring, Security & Performance
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure.
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates and API security.
- Apply security best practices, including encryption, IAM, and network segmentation.
- Identify opportunities for performance improvements and cost optimisation.
- Troubleshoot incidents and support production environments.
Documentation
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and deployment procedures.
Minimum Requirements Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant cloud or software engineering certifications will be advantageous.
- AWS certifications will be beneficial.
Experience & Technical Skills
- Minimum 5 years' experience working with AWS.
- Expert knowledge of AWS services, including compute, databases, networking, and security services.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration.
- Strong experience designing CI/CD pipelines using CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Linux and Windows system administration experience.
- Database administration experience, including SQL Server and backup/recovery.
- Bash and PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Strong understanding of security best practices, including encryption, IAM, and network segmentation.
- Experience with performance tuning and cost optimisation.
- Git version control for infrastructure code.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills.
