- Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification i.e. diploma/degree in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council SANC as a Professional Nurse. OR - A 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nursing R174 that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- OR - A 3-year Diploma in General Nursing R171 that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council SANC as a General Nurse. Registration with a Professional Council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. Current registration with South African Nursing Council SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- A minimum of 8 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in general Nursing. At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognizable experience at management level. Valid Driver's license. Computer Literacy. Extensive experience in Primary Health Care PHC
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes, and other relevant legal frameworks such as; Nursing Act, Health Act. Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Patient Rights Charter. Batho-Pele Principles. Public Service Regulations. Labour Relations Act. Disciplinary Code and procedure. Grievance Procedure, etc. Strong leadership skills. Financial management skills.
Duties
- Delegate, supervise and coordinate the provision of effective and efficient patient care through adequate nursing care. Initiate and participate in health promotion to ensure consistent communication of relevant, accurate and comprehensive information on health care.
- Develop, establish and maintain constructive working relationships with nursing and other stakeholders i.e inter professional, inter sectoral and multi-disciplinary team work.
- Participate in the analysis, formulation and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, standards and procedures. Effective management and utilization of information. Monitor and ensure proper utilization of financial, human resources and physical resources.
