- Basic R425 qualification Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse General. Minimum of 9 years after registration as a Professional Nurse, at least 4 years' appropriate recognizable experience must be at Management Level. Demonstrate advanced understanding and application of Nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices.
- Knowledge of PFMA, HR Management. Knowledge of Public Sector Legislation and relevant Prescript/Regulation, Batho Pele Principles and patient Right Charter. Strong leadership, good interpersonal relations, effective problem-solving, management and decision-making skills. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential requirements. A valid driver's license.
DUTIES
- To manage and provide strategic Nursing leadership and direction to the Nursing Services. Plan and monitor the objectives of the specialised unit in line with the strategic plan of the institution and the department. Coordinate and maintain conducive/constructive working relationships with Nursing and other stakeholders. Ensure compliance with professional and ethical practice.
- Monitor and ensure nursing care is practised in accordance with the statutory law, policies and procedures governing the Nursing Profession, Labour and Health Care. Effective management and utilisation of Human and Material Resources. Ensure effective implementation of PMDS. Monitor compliance to Quality Assurance and Infection Control and Occupational Health and Safety standards and National Core Standards Compliance. Ensure efficient and effective execution of administration functions of the Nursing unit.
