Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate. Basic R425 qualification i.e. Diploma/Degree in Nursing or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council SANCas a Professional Nurse.
  • Post-basic qualification in Nursing Management/Administration or Health Service Management with a minimum duration of one 1 year, accredited with SANC.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience /recognizable experience appropriate in nursing after registration as a professional nurse.
  • At least five 5 years' management experience in the health sector, preferably within HAST programmes and work experience in Primary Health Care environment. Computer literacy and competency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Diploma in HIV/AIDS Management or Master will be added as an advantage. In-depth knowledge and understanding on National HIV/TB, CCMDD AND DMOC is highly required. Knowledge of health systems strengthening policy development and implementation. Comprehensive knowledge of National Strategic Plan on HIV, TB, and STIs. Knowledge of quality improvement plan and M&E implementation approaches/strategies.
  • Experience/knowledge in working with DHIS and or/other routine health information systems including TIER.NET application systems. Understanding of applicable legislative and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills highly required. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Supervision and control of subordinates.

Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership and management of HAST programmes within the district. Coordinate implementation of HIV, TB, STI, and related health programmes. Monitor programme performance and ensure achievement of targets.
  • Manage human, financial, and material resources. Strengthen integration of HAST services with Primary Health Care and community programmes. Facilitate stakeholder engagement and partnerships.
  • Ensure compliance with national and provincial health policies and reporting requirements. Support capacity building, mentorship, and supervision of programme staff.
