- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing executive leadership and strategic direction in District Management and Institutional Governance.
Key responsibilities include
- Provide strategic leadership and governance oversight for the Branch in line with departmental priorities and statutory mandates. Lead the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of strategic and operational plans for district management, institutional governance and related support services.
- Oversee institutional governance, quality promotion and standards across schools and districts. Provide executive oversight of learner social support programmes, including school sport, culture, psychological support, guidance services and special projects. Ensure effective coordination between Head Office and district offices to strengthen service delivery and accountability.
- Monitor and support district performance, planning, resourcing and efficient utilisation of resources. Provide strategic direction for Education Management Information Systems, including data management, LURITS administration and support to planning, budgeting and reporting. Oversee the management of Learning and Teaching Support Material and library services.
- Promote compliance, good governance, performance management and continuous improvement across all functional areas of the Branch..
Prerequisites
- Applicants must have an Post-graduate NQF Level 8 in Education as recognized by SAQA. Minimum of eight 8 years' experience at a senior management level.. SMS Pre-Entry Nyukela Certificate before appointment. Valid South African driver's license with exception of person with disability and be willing to travel extensively
Person Profile
- Knowledge: The ideal candidate should be an effective communicator with the ability to develop policies and programmes to ensure quality service delivery within education districts, provide institutional management and governance policy direction, support, monitor and evaluate the provisioning of quality standards for teaching and learning.
- Extensive professional and practical experience in the field of education/curriculum is essential. Communication skills. The candidate must be confident, trustworthy, accurate, adaptable and diplomatic.
