- Code 10 valid drivers license with PDP
- Minimum of 2 years as a delivery driver experience
Key Responsibilities & Duties 1. Daily Delivery Schedule Management
• Trip Logging: Accurately complete the Daily Delivery Schedule at the start of each shift, including opening kilometers, vehicle registration number, driver name, and customer details. • Dispatch Authorization: Ensure the Dispatch Supervisor signs out the vehicle with the exact dispatch time after loading is complete. • Route Tracking: Record every individual delivery/collection stop on the delivery schedule throughout the day. 2. Stock Loading & Dispatch Verification
• Stock Verification: Pick and check stock from delivery racks against official delivery notes. • Staging: Move checked stock into the designated Dispatch Bay for final review. • Supervisor Sign-off: Double-check all staged stock with the Dispatch Supervisor and apply the "Goods Taken" stamp to the delivery note. • Security & Loading: Ensure the rear dispatch gate remains secure/closed during loading. Load the bakkie safely and secure all stock using the pack bar. 3. Deliveries, Collections & Paperwork
• Customer Signatures: Ensure customers sign the Daily Delivery Schedule upon receiving their orders. • Receipt Management: Deliver all completed delivery notes back to reception for final sign-in and processing. • Cash Handling: Issue an official receipt immediately when collecting payments from customers. Hand over all cash/cheques to reception for sign-in immediately upon return to the premises. • Returns & Credits: When collecting return stock from a customer, complete and sign the Credit Book, leaving the original copy with the customer. • Return Offloading: Offload returned stock directly into the Dispatch Bay for double-checking by the Dispatch Supervisor. • Supplier Collections: Deliver stock and original invoices collected from suppliers directly to the Receiving Bay for verification by the Receiving Supervisor. 4. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct routine daily vehicle checks before leaving the premises.
- Fault Reporting: Log all vehicle defects, safety issues, or maintenance needs on the Daily Driver Checklist and report them immediately to the Dispatch Supervisor.
- Service Scheduling: Monitor mileage to ensure the bakkie is booked and taken for scheduled servicing on time.
- Cleanliness: Keep the interior and exterior of the vehicle clean and tidy at all times.
