TSU Support Services is looking for an organised and detail focused Debtors and Creditors Clerk to join its Finance team in Strand.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid accounting foundation who enjoys working with numbers, keeping financial information accurate and organised, and following through to ensure that payments and account queries are resolved. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, pays close attention to detail and is comfortable managing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to both debtors and creditors, with a strong focus on monthly billing, collections, account administration and financial support. In house training will be provided to help you understand TSU Support Services' systems and processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Debtors and Accounts Receivable
- Maintain and update the client database
- Process and distribute accurate monthly billing for Armed Response services
- Follow up on overdue customer accounts and assist with collections
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer account queries
- Prepare debtor age analyses and collection reports for management
- Identify long overdue accounts that require management attention
- Assist with the handover of customers for legal collection where required
- Manage and monitor debit order collections
- Prepare and distribute client increase letters
Creditors and Accounts Payable
- Assist with processing and capturing supplier invoices when required
- Provide general creditors administration and support as needed
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric or Grade 12
- Diploma or higher qualification in Accounting
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience within a finance or accounting environment
- Experience working with Pastel Evolution or similar accounting software
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Good communication and follow up skills
- Own transport would be advantageous
