Job Description

  • Dis-Chem Pharmacies' in Midrand has an opportunity available for a DC Inventory Stock Controller to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to ensure that replenishment gets done on the various bins, within the Distribution system in the warehouse on a continuous basis.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate continuous cycle counting of stock, in line with company standard operational procedures, and customer needs, if required to do so and ensure physical stock integrity and accuracy in the warehouse is maintained.

Minimum Requirements…

Essential

  • Grade 12 or Senior Certificate with English and Mathematics

Advantageous

  • Supply-Chain or Logistics Degree or Diploma
  • 2 Years relevant experience, in a Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment

Job Specification…

Replenishment

  • Be responsible for ensuring accurate replenishment is performed on a regular basis.
  • Be aware of what the system of replenishment entails and follow this process within the department.
  • Ensure replenishment is done using a scanner.
  • Ensure necessary cut offs and accuracy is maintained, at all times.
  • Ensure that all stock is received and packed away and accurately maintained on the system.
  • Assist with implementation and optimization of new projects related to improving the efficiency of operations such as the scanning project.
  • Ensure that the warehouse racking and all storage utilization are optimized at all times.
  • Ensure all stock integrity irregularities are communicated to the Inventory department.

Internal Customer Service

  • Ensure effective and efficient replenishment into bins, according to standard operating procedures.
  • Comply with minimum standards of accuracy, in order to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure effective and efficient relationships with internal customers to improve operating efficiencies.
  • Must be willing to be rotated where needed and must be willing to perform any other function in the department to assist in other areas, should the need arise.

Cycle Counting

  • Be aware of continuous cycle counts and follow the system used within the department.
  • Ensure counts are done accurately.
  • Ensure standards of speed and accuracy are maintained, while counting.

Stock Control

  • Report damages and bin integrity issues to manager.
  • Report recurring stock issues to manager.
  • Ensure physical expiry dates and batch numbers are maintained correctly.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are effectively carried out to solve extra stock from over-picks, interim areas, checking and pack stations.

Stock Audit

  • When instructed, ensure accuracy of picking, receiving and replenishment processes, as indicated in the standard operating procedure.

General

  • Housekeeping must be in accordance to Dis-Chem standards. Make sure that your work station is always clean and tidy.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Uniform and personal appearance policy.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem disciplinary and counselling policy and procedures.

Special conditions of employment

  • Be able to adapt to working hours according to business needs.
  • Be able to work any shift i.e. day, night, weekends, holidays and overtime as per business and operational requirements.
  • Must be willing to be rotated to where needed and must be willing to perform any other functions within the department, should the need arise.
  • Physical demands include walking and standing, climbing, kneeling, push and pull objects, lift and move objects , repetitive bending.
