Job Description

  • Dis-Chem Pharmacies' in Midrand has an opportunity available for a DC Dispatch Controller Night Shift to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to assist Clinic Nurse Practitioner with daily operations of the Primary Health Care Clinic that is situated in a pharmacy within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse.

Minimum Requirements…

Essential

  • Grade 12 / Matric

Advantageous

  • Previous work experience in retail/warehouse
  • Tertiary Qualification in related to Logistics or warehousing
  • MS Office Excel

Job Specification…

  • Ensure the accuracy of the physical quantity checks versus the DLS quantity balance and are 100% correct
  • Manage the process flow within the Dispatch Department and applying the FIFO principle to aged stock for processing, as per Dis-Chem standard and operational requirements.
  • Adhere to and deliver against shift specific targets with a high level of accuracy
  • Removal of wrong store stock as well as Hu query stock to Penalty Area.
  • Ensure that Dispatch clerks, are not held up and are attended to timeously.
  • Print, Verify DLS and hand to Dispatch Clerks.
  • Prevent and act on security or risk issues and ensure that risks are dealt with
  • Analyze and interpret any shrinkage indicators and act accordingly.
  • Ensure that all cross dock and inter branch invoices are recorded and scanned according to invoice

Knowledge required

  • A thorough understanding of the various departments as well as the ability to work according to all the different processes of each department.
  • Awareness of the business measures and targets directly relating to own role.

Competencies

Essential

  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of all the various functions, within the department.
  • Demonstrates knowledge, of relevant computer packages.
  • Be personally fully aware of and ensure that all employees following the departmental STANDARD OPERATING
  • Demonstrates an understanding, of the business measures and targets directly relating to own role.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of consequential impacts of decisions made. – i.e. Good judgment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify operational obstacles and opportunities and refer to warehouse management
  • Be security conscious at all times and avoid committing theft or fraud.
  • Able to work flexible hours and good time management
  • Strong communication skills in English.
