- This is a 6 – 12-month contract with our client in the consulting industry
- We are looking for a hands-on Database Engineer SQL to build and execute the SQL transformation layer in AWS RDS for an enterprise legacy data migration project.
Key Responsibilities
- SQL Data Transformation: Write, test, and execute transformation scripts directly within AWS RDS to convert legacy data into required import formats.
- Data Reconciliation & Audit: Perform row-count checks, key-field reconciliations, and referential integrity validations before generating import files.
- Document Mapping Support: Assist in extracting and linking unstructured files incident photos, inspection PDFs to their corresponding migrated records via file shares.
- Reusable Script Framework: Develop a modular transformation framework that can be reused across multiple legacy system migration waves.
- Governance & Lineage: Document mapping logic, transformation rules, and data lineage to maintain complete audit readiness.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with System Leads, internal IT, and platform vendors to validate data schemas and obtain signoffs.
Minimum Requirements
- Advanced SQL: Proven expertise writing, tuning, and troubleshooting complex data transformation queries in relational databases.
- AWS RDS & S3: Hands-on experience executing transformation logic directly inside AWS RDS and using S3 for staging.
- Enterprise ETL/Migration: Demonstrated experience extracting, cleansing, and mapping structured data between enterprise schemas under strict project timelines.
- Document & Metadata Linkage: Practical experience linking unstructured files PDFs, images to relational database records.
- Data Quality & Reconciliation: Strict adherence to data auditing standards, row-count verifications, and using Excel-based mapping templates.
